Taxonomy: Falco radiatus Latham, 1801, Sydney, New South Wales.
Has been merged in Accipiter, but recent studies show it to be unrelated to that genus; now regarded as part of old endemic Australasian clade (see page 55). Proposed race rufotibia invalid. Monotypic.
Distribution: N & E Australia, from Kimberleys round to N New South Wales.
