Taxonomy: Tulica [sic] rufifrons Philippi and Landbeck, 1861, Chile.
Monotypic.
Distribution: Coastal S Peru; extreme SE Brazil; coastal C Chile E to S Paraguay, NE Argentina and Uruguay, and S to N Tierra del Fuego; also Falkland Is (formerly?). Erroneous records from N Argentina based on confusion with F. armillata.
