Taxonomy: Colius castanotus J. Verreaux and E. Verreaux, 1855, probably Angola.
Monotypic.

Distribution: W Angola, from mouth of R Congo E to W Malanje (perhaps to Lunda Norte), and S to Namibe (formerly Moçâmedes).
