Other common names: Brooke’s/Rajah Brooke’s Scops-owl
Taxonomy: Scops brookii Sharpe, 1892, Mount Dulit, Sarawak, Borneo.
Probably forms superspecies with O. angelinae. Has been considered conspecific with latter, but the two differ in morphology and possibly in behaviour. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- solokensis (Hartert, 1893) - Sumatra.
- brookii (Sharpe, 1892) - Borneo.
