Other common names: Rüppell's Korhaan
Taxonomy: Otis Rüppelii [sic] Wahlberg, 1856, Onanis, Damaraland.
Forms parapatric species pair with E. vigorsii, with which frequently considered conspecific; these two and E. humilis formerly placed in genus Heterotetrax. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- rueppellii (Wahlberg, 1856) - coastal S Angola (N to Benguela) and NW Namibia.
- fitzsimonsi (Roberts, 1937) - CW Namibia.
