Taxonomy: Cinnyris purpureiventris Reichenow, 1893, Migere, western Mpororo = south-western Uganda.
Possibly forms a superspecies with N. bocagii and N. tacazze. Monotypic.

Distribution: Albertine Rift mountains in E DRCongo, SW Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
