Taxonomy: Trochilus Maugæus Audebert and Vieillot, 1801, Puerto Rico.
Forms a superspecies with C. ricordii and C. swainsonii, and these three formerly separated in genus Riccordia. Monotypic.

Distribution: Puerto Rico.
