Taxonomy: Puffinuria Garnotii Lesson, 1828, coast of Peru between San Gallán Island and Lima.
Forms superspecies with P. georgicus and P. magellani. Monotypic.
Distribution: Breeds coasts of Peru and Chile, mainly between 6° S and 38° S.
