Taxonomy: Seïsura nana Gould, 1870, northern Australia.
Forms a superspecies with M. inquieta; previously treated as conspecific, but differs in plumage, bill structure, size and vocalizations. Monotypic.
Distribution: S New Guinea (from Merauke E to R Bensbach and middle R Fly around Obo; Saibai I) and N Australia (from N Western Australia E, mainly in coastal areas, to SW Cape York area of NW Queensland).
