Taxonomy: Phylloscopus tenellipes Swinhoe, 1860, Xiamen (Amoy), Fujian, south-east China.
Has been considered conspecific with P. borealoides, but differs vocally; has in the past been considered conspecific with P. ijimae. Monotypic.
Distribution: Breeds SE Russia (Amurland, Ussuriland), extreme NE China (E Manchuria) and N Korea; non-breeding SE Asia (S Myanmar E to Cambodia and S Vietnam, S to S Thailand), occasionally Hainan I.
