Taxonomy: Psittacus jonquillaceus Vieillot, 1818, New Holland; error = Timor.
Forms a superspecies with A. erythropterus. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- wetterensis (Salvadori, 1891) - Wetar.
- jonquillaceus (Vieillot, 1818) - Timor and Roti.
