Taxonomy: M[uscisaxicola] flavinucha Lafresnaye, 1855, Chile.
Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- flavinucha Lafresnaye, 1855 - breeds N & C Chile (Antofagasta S to Colchagua) and W Argentina (Mendoza S to Santa Cruz).
- brevirostris Olrog, 1949 - breeds S Chile and S Argentina S to Tierra del Fuego.
