Typical Owls (Strigidae)
Ochre-bellied Hawk-owl (Ninox ochracea) - HBW 5, p. 235
French: Ninoxe ocrée
German: Ockerbauchkauz
Spanish: Nínox Ocráceo
Other common names: Ochre-bellied Boobook
Taxonomy: Noctua ochracea Schlegel, 1866, Negri-lama, Gulf of Tomini, Sulawesi.
Affinities uncertain. Closest relative probably N. philippensis; considered by some authors to be close to N. punctulata, but this apparently far from the case. Sometimes referred to as N. perversa, as name ochracea erroneously thought to be preoccupied. Monotypic.
Distribution: Sulawesi and Butung.
