Ocellated Crake (Micropygia schomburgkii) - HBW 3, p. 151

Other common names: Ocellated Rail, Dotted Crake
Taxonomy: Crex Schomburgkii Schomburgk, 1848, interior of Guyana.
Sometimes placed in Coturnicops but differs in vocalizations, nest construction and some anatomical details. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- schomburgkii (Schomburgk, 1848) - Costa Rica, Colombia, Venezuela and the Guianas; also SE Peru and Bolivia (racial affinities not clear).
- chapmani (Naumburg, 1930) - C to SE Brazil.
