Taxonomy: Totanus guttifer Nordmann, 1835, Okhotsk.
Formerly separated in monospecific genus Pseudototanus. Monotypic.
Distribution: Sakhalin and W Sea of Okhotsk; possibly also N Sea of Okhotsk and Kamchatka. Winters in NE India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Hainan S to Malay Peninsula; may also be regular in South Korea, perhaps E Sumatra and elsewhere.
