Taxonomy: Lanius (Fiscus) Newtoni Bocage, 1891, São Tomé.
Forms a superspecies with L. collaris and L. marwitzi, and all three formerly treated as conspecific. Monotypic.

Distribution: Island of São Tomé, in Gulf of Guinea.
