Taxonomy: Delichon nipalensis F. Moore, 1854, Nepal.
Plumage variation somewhat clinal, amount of black on throat increasing from W to E. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- nipalense F. Moore, 1854 - Himalayas from Nepal and SE Tibet E to W Myanmar.
- cuttingi Mayr, 1941 - NE Myanmar, S China (extreme SW Yunnan), NE Thailand, N Laos and NW Vietnam (W Tonkin).
