Taxonomy: Psittacus nenday Vieillot, 1823, Paraguay.
Sometimes placed in Aratinga. Monotypic.
Distribution: SE Bolivia and SW Brazil through C Paraguay to N Argentina. Small numbers feral in Buenos Aires city; also in Canada and USA.
