Taxonomy: Francolinus nahani Dubois, 1905, Popoie, Aruwimi River, Zaire.
Formerly placed in monotypic genus Acentrortyx. Recently proposed reorganization of Francolinus places present species in genus Pternistis with 23 other species. Monotypic.
Distribution: NE Zaire (area bordered by R Aruwimi, R Nepoko and R Semliki) and W & SC Uganda (forests of Budongo, Bugoma and Mabira).
