Taxonomy: Zosterops (Speirops) melanocephala G. R. Gray, 1862, Mount Cameroon.
Forms a superspecies with S. lugubris, and formerly considered conspecific, but differs morphologically and ecologically; S. leucophoeus possibly belongs to same superspecies. Monotypic.
Distribution: Mt Cameroon, in SW Cameroon.
