Taxonomy: Tantalus cinereus Raffles, 1822, Sumatra.
Formerly placed in genus Ibis; less frequently in Tantalus. Monotypic.
Distribution: S Viet Nam, Kampuchea, Peninsular Malaysia and the Indonesian islands of Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi.
