Taxonomy: Cymochorea markhami Salvin, 1883, coast of Peru, lat. 19° 40' S, long. 75° W.
Sometimes considered conspecific with O. tristrami. Monotypic.
Distribution: SE Pacific, with breeding confirmed only on Paracas Peninsula (14° S), Peru, where first nests recently found; bulk of population probably nests on coast of Chile or Peru.
