Taxonomy: Anas angustirostris Ménétriés, 1832, Lenkoran.
Often placed in genus Anas. Considered to be a link between dabbling ducks and pochards (Aythyini). Monotypic.
Distribution: S Spain and N Africa through Middle East and W Asia to extreme W China.
