Pipits and Wagtails (Motacillidae)
Madagascar Wagtail (Motacilla flaviventris) - HBW 9, p. 785
French: Bergeronnette malgache
German: Madagaskarstelze
Spanish: Lavandera Malgache
Taxonomy: Motacilla flaviventris Hartlaub, 1860, Bombetoke Bay, Madagascar.
Sometimes thought to form a superspecies with M. capensis; both also suggested as comprising a superspecies with M. flava and M. citreola, but such relationship not supported by recent molecular-genetic studies. Described race icterica (SC Madagascar) considered indistinguishable from other populations. Monotypic.
Distribution: Madagascar.
