Taxonomy: Ocydromus sylvestris P. L. Sclater, 1869, Lord Howe Island.
Sometimes placed in Tricholimnas or Rallus. Includes G. (Tricholimnas) conditicius, known from one specimen and sometimes thought to be specifically distinct, but now generally regarded as an immature of present species (see page 111). Monotypic.
