Taxonomy: Apalis argentea Moreau, 1941, Ujamba, Mount Kungwe [= Mount Mahale], west Tanzania.
Forms a superspecies with A. sharpii, A. rufogularis and A. karamojae; often treated as a race of A. rufogularis. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- eidos J. L. Peters & Loveridge, 1942 - locally in E DRCongo (Idjwi I, in L Kivu), Rwanda (Nyungwe Forest) and Burundi (Kibira and Bururi Forests).
- argentea Moreau, 1941 - Mt Mahale, in W Tanzania.
