Kretschmer's Longbill (Macrosphenus kretschmeri) - HBW 11, p. 642

French: Nasique de Kretschmer German: Suaheli-Bülbülgrasmücke Spanish: Picolargo de Kretschmer
Other common names: Kretschmer’s Bulbul/Greenbul

Taxonomy: Phyllostrephus kretschmeri Reichenow and Neumann, 1895, Kibosho, Mount Kilimanjaro, c. 2500 m, Tanzania.
Relationships obscure; originally considered to be a greenbul (Pycnonotidae) and was assigned to a monotypic genus, Suaheliornis. Although placed by some authors in the superspecies formed by M. concolor and M. pulitzeri, its larger size, longer tail and stouter bill set it apart from all of its current congeners. Two subspecies recognized.
