Taxonomy: Anas spectabilis Linnaeus, 1758, Canada, Sweden.
Closely linked to S. mollissima, with which frequently hybridizes in the wild. Monotypic.
Distribution: Arctic coasts, except Iceland and Scandinavia, where may breed sporadically.
