Taxonomy: Chrysomma altirostre Jerdon, 1862, island off Thayetmyo, in Irrawaddy River, Myanmar.
Previously placed in genus Moupinia. Three subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- scindicum (Harington, 1915) - Indus Plains, in Pakistan.
- griseigulare (Hume, 1877) - S Nepal and NE India.
- altirostre Jerdon, 1862 - N & S Myanmar (Irrawaddy-Sittang river plain).
