Taxonomy: Halcyon cyanoventris Vieillot, 1818, Java.
Forms a superspecies with H. smyrnensis, and sometimes considered conspecific, but the two overlap in range in W Java without hybridizing. Monotypic.
Distribution: Java and Bali.
