Taxonomy: Cissa hypoleuca Salvadori and Giglioli, 1885, Thu Dan Mot, Cochinchina, Vietnam.
Although often expanded to encompass Urocissa, present genus is distinctive in appearance of its members (the green magpies). This species forms a superspecies with C. chinensis and C. thalassina, and sometimes treated as conspecific with latter. Alternatively, races concolor and jini have sometimes been considered to represent a separate species, and katsumatae has likewise been treated as another full species. Five subspecies currently recognized.

  • chauleti Delacour, 1926 - C Annam (Vietnam).
