Taxonomy: Thaumatias Luciæ Lawrence, 1867, Honduras.
Genus sometimes lumped into Agyrtria; these two usually merged into Amazilia. Forms a superspecies with P. boucardi. Monotypic.
Distribution: Arid interior valleys of N & C Honduras.
