Taxonomy: Cinclosoma? Nipalensis Hodgson, 1836, Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.
Has been thought to form a superspecies with A. waldeni, and sometimes considered conspecific. Apparent hybrids with latter (of race daflaensis) found in NE India (W Arunachal Pradesh). Birds from E Nepal E to Bhutan described as race vinctura, but inseparable from individuals elsewhere in species’ range. Monotypic.
Distribution: Nepal E to Bhutan and NE India (extreme W Arunachal Pradesh), and adjacent China (S Xizang).
