Other common names: Greater Antillean Pewee (if lumped with C. caribaeus and C. pallidus)

Taxonomy: Tyrannula carriboea [sic] (var. hispaniolensis) H. Bryant, 1867, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Hispaniola.
Formerly treated as conspecific with C. caribaeus and C. pallidus. Two subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

  • hispaniolensis (H. Bryant, 1867) - Hispaniola.
  • tacitus (Wetmore, 1928) - Gonâve I, off W Haiti.
