Taxonomy: Querquedula Hartlaubii Cassin, 1859, Camma River, Gabon.
Sometimes placed in genus Cairina. Birds with extensive white on head were formerly considered distinct subspecies, albifrons. Monotypic.
Distribution: Equatorial W Africa.
