Taxonomy: Xenocichla poliocephala Reichenow, 1892, Buea, 1200 m, Mount Cameroon, Cameroon.
Forms a superspecies with P. flavostriatus; has been considered conspecific by some authors, but is much larger, differs significantly in plumage characters, and lacks the distinctive song of that species. Monotypic.
Distribution: Extreme SE Nigeria (Obudu Plateau) and W Cameroon (Banyang Mbo and Mt Manengouba S to Mt Cameroon).
