Babblers (Timaliidae)
Grey-faced Tit-babbler (Macronus kelleyi) - HBW 12, p. 182
French: Timalie de Kelley
German: Graugesicht-Meisentimalie
Spanish: Timalí de Kelley
Other common names: Kelley’s Tit-babbler
Taxonomy: Mixornis kelleyi Delacour, 1932, Pakse (15º08¢ N, 105º48¢ E), Laos.
Original description of the genus included two different spellings of name (Macronus, Macronous); current name determined by ICZN Principle of First Reviser (see page 78). Relationships uncertain. Suggestion that it may be a colour variant of M. gularis seems unlikely, especially as the two occur sympatrically; in appearance, closest to isolated race woodi of latter, and possible link with this taxon merits investigation. Monotypic.
Distribution: C & S Laos, E Cambodia and Vietnam (SE Tonkin S to N Cochinchina).
