Grey-eyed Bulbul (Iole propinqua) - HBW 10, p. 231

Taxonomy: Criniger propinquus Oustalet, 1903, Pa Mou, Tonkin, north Vietnam.
Often placed in expanded genus Hypsipetes. All races are extremely similar and probably represent points on steep clines; subspecific allocation probably requires simplification, and full review is necessary. Proposed race lönnbergi (described from Pang Huai Hom and Khao Phlung, in Thailand) is a synonym of nominate. Six subspecies currently recognized.
