Taxonomy: Liocichla omeiensis Riley, 1926, Mount Omei, Sichuan, China.
Closely related to L. steerii, and in the past often treated as conspecific with it; these two and L. bugunorum may form a superspecies. Monotypic.
Distribution: SC & S Sichuan and extreme NE Yunnan, in SC China.
