Taxonomy: Urocichla reptata Bingham, 1903, Loi Pang Nao (21º20¢ N, 100º20¢ E), Southern Shan State, Upper Myanmar.
Formerly treated as conspecific with S. chocolatinus, S. kinneari and S. oatesi. Monotypic.

Distribution: Extreme NE India (E Arunachal Pradesh), N & E Myanmar, S China (NW & W Yunnan) and W Thailand.
