Taxonomy: Turdus hortulorum P. L. Sclater, 1863, Camoëns Garden, Macau. Guangdong, China.
Has been thought to form a superspecies with T. unicolor and T. dissimilis; formerly considered conspecific with latter. Monotypic.
Distribution: SE Russia (SE Siberia, Ussuriland), Manchuria and N Korea; non-breeding SE China and N Indochina.
