Spanish: Jacamará Coliverde
Taxonomy: Alcedo Galbula Linnaeus, 1766, Cayenne and Brazil = Cayenne.
Forms a superspecies with G. ruficauda, G. pastazae, G. tombacea and G. cyanescens. Thought to have hybridized with G. leucogastra in Surinam. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Colombia (Vichada, Meta), S & E Venezuela (S of R Orinoco), the Guianas and N Brazil (S to lower reaches of R Madeira and R Tapajós).
