Green-eared Barbet (Megalaima faiostricta) - HBW 7, p. 203

French: Barbu grivelé German: Grünohr-Bartvogel Spanish: Barbudo Orejiverde
Other common names: Lineated Barbet(!)

Taxonomy: Bucco faiostrictus Temminck, 1831, Cochinchina.
May be related, but not very closely, to M. zeylanica and M. lineata, also to M. viridis, or possibly to M. franklinii and M. oorti. Species name sometimes spelt erroneously as faiostriata. Two subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

praetermissa (Kloss, 1918) - N Thailand, Laos, N Vietnam and S & SE China (S of Canton).
faiostricta (Temminck, 1831) - C & S Thailand, Cambodia and S Vietnam.
