Spanish: Arasarí verde
Taxonomy: Ramphastos viridis Linnaeus, 1766, Cayenne.
May form a superspecies with P. inscriptus. Less closely related to P. bitorquatus. Race humboldti of P. inscriptus treated by some authors as belonging within present species, but appears much closer to P. inscriptus. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Venezuela (Delta Amacuro S to E Amazonas) E through the Guianas, and S to N Brazil (S to Amazon, W to E Roraima and R Negro).
