Taxonomy: Buthraupis aureodorsalis Blake and Hocking, 1974, Quilluacocha, c. 11,500 feet [c. 3500 m], Huánuco (Acomayo), Peru.
May form a superspecies with B. eximia. Monotypic.
Distribution: E slope of Andes in NC Peru (San Martín, La Libertad and Huánuco).
