Taxonomy: Pisorhina alfredi Hartert, 1897, Repok Mountains, above 3500 feet [c. 1100 m], Flores.
Probably forms superspecies with O. balli and O. spilocephalus. Recently treated as a rufous morph of race albiventris of O. magicus, but morphological study clearly demonstrates its distinctness and validity as a species. Monotypic.
Distribution: Flores I, in Lesser Sundas.
