Taxonomy: Megatriorchis doriae Salvadori and D'Albertis, 1875, Yule Island, New Guinea.
Has frequently been merged into superficially similar genus Accipiter, but now considered part of old endemic Australasian clade, related instead to Erythrotriorchis and others (see page 55). Monotypic.
Distribution: New Guinea; also recorded on Batanta I, off NW New Guinea.
