Spanish: Pelícano Ceñudo
Taxonomy: Pelecanus crispus Bruch, 1832, Dalmatia.
Has been considered subspecies of P. philippensis, but quite distinct in morphology and nesting habits. Monotypic.
Distribution: Breeds Yugoslavia to China, c. 30° 50° N; winters Greece to China, typically in Balkans, S Caspian Sea, floodplains of Indus and Ganges.
