Taxonomy: Anaeretes sclateri Oustalet, 1892, Chile; error = Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Isolated N populations described as race striaticeps on basis of pale lower mandible, but this evidently a trait of immature. Monotypic.
Distribution: Isolated populations in Venezuela, Trinidad and Guyana; also N Bolivia, S & SE Brazil, Paraguay and E Argentina.
