Taxonomy: Metallura theresiae Simon, 1902, Tayabamba, Department of Pataz, Peru.
Forms superspecies with M. aeneocauda, M. eupogon, M. odomae, M. baroni and M. williami. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- parkeri Graves, 1981 - Cordillera de Colán (N Peru).
- theresiae Simon, 1902 - both slopes of Andes E of R Marañón and S to Cordillera Carpish N of R Huallaga, Huánuco (NE Peru).
